BUILD Halloween Hacks is a student-led hackathon where participants are challenged to design and develop projects that capture the spirit of Halloween or showcase original ideas in technology. From eerie websites to suspenseful games to projects that redefine how we think about spooky season, this event is designed to inspire builders of all backgrounds.
The hackathon is open to everyone regardless of experience. You can participate alone or form a team with others in the community. What matters most is the idea you bring to life and how you present it.

Requirements
What to Build
The choice is yours. You can create something directly tied to Halloween, such as spooky games, haunted websites, or eerie hardware projects, or you can build something completely outside the theme. The goal is to showcase creativity, technical ability, and originality. Projects of all types and technologies are welcome. Projects must be new and created during the duration of the hackathon. We will fact-check.
What to Submit

A public repository (GitHub or alternative) with your project’s code and assets.

A demo video between 2 and 6 minutes explaining your project, showing how it works, and highlighting what makes it unique.

A written description on Devpost that covers:

Optional but encouraged: include a link to a live demo if applicable.

How unique or creative is the project? -
Technical Execution
A great idea is awesome. How has the project taken the steps to implement and execute upon the idea from a technical point of view? -
Presentation
Is the project pitched in a convincing and engaging manner? Is the idea presented clearly and in a way that's easy to approach? Does the team include a working demonstration of the project? -
Practicality
Could this idea actually be implemented in real life? Would people be motivated to use it? Is it a functioning solution that can scale in the real world? -
Design
Is the UI design user-friendly and intuitive? Does the design enhance user experience and engagement?
